. . . of interest to sculptors . . .

Years back I set about creating a book on the stone carving arts.  It was a noble, and I still think much needed, enterprise but I discovered early on that it was labor intensive and greedy beyond greedy for time.   I ended up abandoning it in favour of carving stone as opposed to writing about carving stone.  These years later,  on the eve of the 2023 symposium, I am looking over the draft of the first 73 pages I composed so long ago.,  It’s far from finished and cleaned up and there are a lot of blanks where I planned to put images— but what is there is clearly is a golden source of information for the aspiring sculptor.  It concerns mostly working by hand; I stopped just before getting into power tools.  Do give it a go . . .

A 'semi' tech note:  I draw the various sketches for my tech notes with Adobe Illustrator.  It’s a useful thlng for artists of any stripe to learn as an adjunct to whatever you are creating.  Downside—it’s a lot of harsh learning to get started although gets easier after you get going.  Oh yes, it costs $$ too.  Not my fault!
