Much recovered from various adversities, I’m happy to be back in the Art Crawl.  As my energies rebounded, so has my collection been resurrected.   I have some nice new 'blings' and  some compelling abstracts in marble, along with my customary menagerie of  critters that never bore . . .

Come visit.    We’re all vaccinated at my digs and I know you are the same.  But . . . !  Wear a mask anyway . . . and we’ll have hand disinfectant everywhere so as always, I invite you to touch and feel . . .

BC Health regs are in effect.

During my convalescence, I wasn’t able to muscle the heavy stones up to the tools; but I could manage small things.  Here are a couple of examples of the unique 'bling' designs that eternally swirl around in my head.  As you can see, I like rings that are outrageous and I’m finding that there are a few folk out there who share the taste.

For this year, watch for these rings now 'dipped' in gold.  Gorgeous!

At last Art Crawl, I had just  carved the first few pieces from my newly discovered Picasso Marble.   Since then, I’ve gotten my face right into it and this year, will feature the gorgeous result with yet a few more.  The bear needs no explanation.  On the right you can see the progression from a featureless shard to a fine finished Humpback  Whale that one would never dream is locked up inside . . . .that’s me looking like a man from outer space, going at the marble with a diamond mini-grinder.

Frog hewn out of a remarkable little block of malachite, a stone found mostly in Africa.    In its natural state, it appears like green bubbles or grapes, a formation called 'botryoidal', which result in infinitely varied

‍ spectacular markings when honed off.

. . . still working with

Picasso Marble!

Two nore fine rings: Haida Gwai Ocean Beach chalcedony and Siberian fine jade, both 'dipped' in gold.

An 'ulu' carved from  BC Polar Jade framed in gold,  with a walrus ivory handle,

A rare find:  Golden Chalcedony , again from intriguing Haida  Gwaii . . . now a fine ring to adorn a welcoming hand.
